“For us, Kolla was the perfect match,” says Marcin Zielinski, Product Manager at Doro, jumping straight to the conclusion. The phone and smart device company Doro is currently using Kolla to help market their new connected doorbells to seniors.
Doro is famous for user-friendly, accessible phones and smartphones. In fact, they pride themselves on their ability to make the complex accessible. So, when Doro decided to expand its portfolio to included connected doorbells, they needed to find a way to help its audience understand how to get things up and running. They also wanted to make sure the brand experience was a positive one while reducing the number of calls to customer service. “A connected device is, by its nature, complex,” says Zielinski. “Our challenge was to bring IOT (Internet of things) and connected devices to seniors and help them with the installation in a way that made sense.” It wasn’t an easy ask. “You have the product, you have wifi, you have a phone, you have an app. You have to figure out how to connect all of that.” The Kolla platform let them create a branded microsite that suited their needs. A QR-code on every doorbell packaging takes the customer to a microsite with a series of fun but educational videos on the six steps to installing your doorbell. The platform’s multilingual function was an added bonus. “The experience needs to be smooth whether we are in France, Germany or England,” says Zielinski. “The Kolla platform made it possible to easily subtitle the videos we used into the languages we needed.” Lars Ribnell, Support Service Manager at Doro agrees. “It’s vital for us that our customers get the support they need when they need it. Just like our products, our support service needs to be accessible and easy. The Kolla platform gives our audience direct access to the right kind of content at the right time. And Kolla provided both; the platform and the engaging content.” “It has been a really great experience to work with the team at Kolla,” adds Ribnell. “They have been very eager to get to know us and our products and have been quick and professional in every way. I felt secure and inspired throughout and would love to do more material together again.”
What stood out for Doro in this project though was that it wasn’t just the user-friendly Kolla platform but the team of Kolla content experts that created engaging and educational content for the microsite. “Kolla’s content team ran the project for us entirely. We didn’t have to change our ways of adapt to their needs. They came to us and drove everything,” says Zielinski. This included coming up with a creative idea, scripting it and then doing the design and producing six films. “They were fun, engaging and informative films and made it really easy to understand how to install the connected doorbells. This was the perfect match for us.” “The Kolla platform is now a crucial part of the product onboarding experience,” says Zielinski.
